Samuel Mundy was the son of Samuel Mundy, a grandson of Nicholas Mundy, Jr., and a great-grandson of the first Nicholas Mundy. I do not know the name of his mother.

As noted below, he served in the American Revolution.

According to the Rev. Ezra Mundy, his children were:

* Henry, who married Humy Ayers
* Samuel, who married first a Barron and second a Rowland and who lived at the Landing
* Sarah, who married Ellis Ayers (brother of Humy)
* Jeptha, married an Ayers (but not of the above family), 1752-1837
* Phinehas, who died young
* Benajah, who married Lovicy Frazee, 1765-1823
* Edward, who married a Crowell and lived in Woodbridge
* Ezra, who married a Prall, 1772-1841
* Margaret, who died unmarried in 1856
* Rachel, who married Reuben Freeman and afterwards James Matthews

Rev. Ezra Mundy placed a memorial to Samuel Mundy in 1893 next to that of Samuel's wife.
