Wallace J. Harris, 72, of Delphi, died at 12:08 a.m. Jan. 11, 1998, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born June 10, 1925, in Haleyville, Ala., he was the son of Jaspure Levi and Lori Jane Harris.

He attended school in Haleyville moved from there to Delphi, in 1955. His marriage was on Feb. 20,1967, in Lafayette, to Marilyn K. Trueblood, who survives.

He worked 27 years at Globe Valve Corp., Delphi, retiring in 1987. Before that, he worked at the Flora Tile Co. He also was gfoundskefep'^r "for all bf Delphi’s parks fdffiirte yettfs: J: ! Mr. Harris was a member of the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Delphi, and United Auto Workers Local 914. He was an avid fisherman.

Also surviving are two sons, Wallace J. Harris Jr. of Monticello and Robert J. Harris of Flora; a daughter, Donna Lowry of Delphi; stepdaughter, Lela Boyles of Fiord; three brothers, R.C. Harris, Jerry Harris, and Henry Harris, all of Haleyville; four sisters, Bea DeHaven of Logansport, Leona Gibson of Flora, and Freda May and Lola Saulders, both of Haleyville; 10 grandchildren and one great- granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one son, a brother, a sister, and one grandson.

Services were Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home with Pastor Kermit Goins officiating. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
