Allyne Jane Anderson was the 4th child and middle daughter born to her parents. She grew up in Hayland Township, 6 miles north of Milaca, MN. Allyne graduated from Milaca H.S. in 1948, where she participateed in band and the school newspaper. She went on to attend the University of Minnesota and recieved a degree in journalism. She had an interest in writing her whole life. After finishing school she moved briefly first to Denver, CO and then to San Bernardino, CA. It was in California in 1958 that she met and married Rowan McAllister, who was then in the Marine Corps. They had one son together. The marriage lasted only three years. Allyne moved back to Minnesota, where she made a career working for Honeywell in thier human resourses department. She retired in 1990.
Allyne Jane McAllister spent the last dozen years of her life afflicted with Alzheimers disesae. She died at age 87 at Emerald Crest Memory Care Center, in Minnetonka, MN, on July 29, 2018.
