Mr. Cole was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from Yellow Freight Co. as a fork lift operator. He was a member of Teamsters Local 710. He was of the protestant faith and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, James E. Cole, Weldon Cole, Trama Cole, Donald Cole, Robert Cole and Freeman Cole; and four sisters, Trema Cole,Maxine Cole, Linda Cole and Delores Nyce.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; one daughter; three sons; one brother; three sisters; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton the Rev. Randolph Dishner officiating. Interment will follow at the Bowling Cemetery in Spanishburg.
