Mrs. Alvin Bates to Be Buried Tuesday

Mrs. Alvin Bates, 75, died at Story county home Saturday evening at 10:30 and the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, at the Bishop Funeral Home, after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Bates had been an invalid for many months at the home of her husband at 1730 Fifth street. A few months ago she was taken to the state hospital at Iowa City, where examination indicated that the case was a hopeless one and she was brought back and taken to the county home for care.

She leaves her husband Alvin Bates of this city, as well as other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Bates, who was born in Fountain county, Indiana, 75 years ago August 6 last, head been a resident of Nevada for the past six years.

Two daughters, Mrs. Orpha New at St. Joe, Mo., and Mrs. Harry Callicotte, Kansas City, Mo., and the latter's daughter Juanita, are here for the funeral, which will be in charge of Rev. J. R. Adams, pastor of the Nevada Church of Christ.
