Adeline was the daughter of Ralph Lowy, Sr., and his second wife, Katie Beatrice Deese. She married James Warford Maynor on Jul. 17, 1955 in South Carolina. She taught high school business at Magnolia High School for 30 years. She was also a N.C. Realtor and Appraiser in Pembroke and was the owner of A&A Realty.
***NOTE: In 1954, she received a Bachelor of Education degreee from what is presently known as the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In July 2007, the Heritage Walk was dedicated to serve as a permanent monument to all of the university's graduates from 1905 to 1954. Adeline was honored by having her name engraved on a brick in the Heritage Walk walkway in front of Old Main, the oldest building on the campus.
