Obit - Helen (Blackwell) Zike, 105, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. She was born on September 7, 1912 in Lawrence County, Indiana; the daughter of Julius and Roxie (Holmes) Blackwell.
Helen was a homemaker and avid quilter since the age of 25. Helen was the oldest member of Clear Creek Christian Church, having been a member for 71 years. She was also a member of Good Neighbors Extension Homemaker Club.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Joyanne Hawkins and Glenda (Frank) Livingston; daughter-in-law’s, Tresia Zike and Vicki Zike; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Davis Zike; two sons, Jerry Lee Zike and Kenneth Dale Zike; three sisters, Glowdene, Genevive, and June and a son-in-law E. Cleo Hawkins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington. With David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 and Saturday from 10:00am to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clear Creek Christian Church or The Leukemia Foundation.
