Pioneer Fillmore Co. Resident Dead

Chatfield, Minn. - (Special to The Republican-Herald)- Samuel Hanley, Jordan township treasurer for more than 50 years and treasurer of school district 98 for 40 years, died at a Rochester hospital Thursday of kidney trouble.

Mr. Hanley, who was born at Ludlow, Vt., April 18, 1842, had lived in Jordan township for 67 years. He married Cora Goldsmith in 1885.

He is survived by three sons and five daughters. The Masonic lodge will have charge of the funeral which is to be held Saturday.
