FOUND DEAD
Diesire Bulltynk Died in Cabin in Little Strawberry
Desire Bulltynk was found dead in his cabin near the Oro Fino hoist in Little Strawberry gulch, about 9:30 o’clock Saturday morning. The body was discovered by Will Kudler, in the employ of Jacob Goldberg as the delivery wagon driver. Kudler was on his way to Galena and, as was his custom, went to the cabin occupied by Bultynk to enquire if he was in need of any provisions. Glancing through the window he discovered his body lying on the floor with the upper part of his face smeared with blood. Without entering the place, he went at once to notify those living nearest of his discovery.
Coroner Howe and Sheriff Trathen were immediately telephoned for and started for the scene. Owing to the presence of blood about the face of the corpse, a report was spread that a murder had been committed, but an examination by Dr. Howe, revealed the fact that the deceased had come to his death through natural causes. The examinations further brought to light the fact that he had probably been dead since Friday morning. He was last seen alive about his cabin on Thursday.
Dr. Howe decided that the death was due to internal hemorrhage.
Desire Bulltynk was born in France and came to the Black Hills about fifteen years ago. He has resided for the greater part of that time in the neighborhood of Galena and had acquired some valuable mining ground in the vicinity. At the time of his death, he was also possessed of considerable personal property and cash.
The funeral took place this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Catholic church in Galena.
