Bob was born June 15, 1925 in Peoria, a son of Frank and Marie (Zuber) Matulis. He married Veronica M. (Armbruster) Matulis on October 11, 1947 at St. Bernard’s Church in Peoria. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2009. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Matulis and one sister, Delores Pantages.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Barbara (George) Katsenes of Houston, TX, one son, Douglas Matulis of Phoenix, AZ and his two children, Logan and Danya.
Bob proudly served in the US Navy in WWII. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the VFW Post 814 in Peoria. He worked at CILCO for 37 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1984.
A Funeral Mass will be at Noon, Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. Stephen Willard will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
