Veronica was born to Edward and Nellie Antrim Armbruster. She married Robert R. Matulis on Oct. 11, 1947, at St. Bernard Church in Peoria.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert R. Matulis; one daughter, Barbara (George) Katsenes of Houston, Texas; one son, Douglas (Revonne) Matulis of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Logan and Danya Matulis of Phoenix, Ariz.

She is also survived by four sisters, Mary (Willis) Walin of Varna, Ill., Laura (late John) Focci of Toluca, Ill., Ethel Prokaski of Varna, Ill., and Patricia (Gary) Sager of Magnolia, Ill.; and two brothers, Edward (Leah) Armbruster of Orland Park, Ill., and Paul Armbruster of Henry, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Delores (Louis) Pantages of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Edna Armbruster.

Veronica was a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the church's Women's Guild and Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. She also was a member of the Peoria Garden Club.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
