Wedding Announcement
North Creek, May 31, 1876
Editor World:
Married. - At the residence of the bride's mother, on the evening of May 20th, by Rev. Father Boetzkiss, Miss Dora Williford and Mr. R. M. Hanly. All of Phillips county.
With all the grace and beauty of her sex, by nature given, assisted with the works of art, so far as skill and taste could make, the bride looked lovely.
The proud, yet softened glance and manly mien of him she had chosen, was but a true reflection of his generous soul and tender heart, that blended well with hers.
In token of her love and appreciation of her son's choice, the mother of the groom presented the bride with a most beautiful solitaire diamond ring, the genuineness of which was a fit emblem of her purity, and its brilliance of their happiness, "until time shall corrode its glitter, may sorrow be spared them.
At 10 o'clock the happy attendants with bride and groom, repaired to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Woodin, where a supper was served, that could only be rivaled in magnificence by a dinner given at the residence of the groom's brother, Mr. S. P. Hanly, on the following day, to the same happy couple.
Never, during life, has it been our pleasure to witness a marriage ceremony, the result of which occasioned more profound congratulations. May they live long and Prosper, and if responsibilities must come, May all their tears be tears of joy, And all their cares be little ones.
