Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with High Priest Donald Bunnell officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.
Mr. Dawkins was born November 9,1932, in Clay County, the son of Thadeus Steven and Ruth (Rinehart) Dawkins. He married Edith M. Henson on November 10, 1951, in Decatur. She preceded him in death August 19, 2005.
He worked at World Color Press.
He is survived by three daughters, Rita Kay Willison and her husband, Justin, of Louisville, Pamela S. Bowen and her husband, Roy, of Kinmundy, and Amy Lynn Utterback and her husband, Troy, of Riviera, Texas; three brothers, Glenn Dawkins and his significant other, Jean Ferguson, of Flora, Max Dawkins and his wife, Cathy, of Ketchikan, Ark., and Jack Dawkins of Clay City; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, one sister and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice.
