Reverend Abraham was born in Lafayette to the late Junius Abraham and Marina Benjamin. He attended Grambling State University for two years. Rev. Abraham was a Pastor for 33 years at Breaux Bridge Greater First Apostolic Church and was a retired employee with the City of Lafayette. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. LaMarche, Dr. LeBron, Dr. Sobiesk, Dr. Blalock, Dr. Kennedy, the staff at Lafayette General, FMC West, and FMC Breaux Bridge Dialysis Clinic, and the nurses on the 4th floor who had so much patience and took such good care of our dad.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Brenda Shelvin Abraham; daughters, Roxanne Young and husband Charles of Breaux Bridge, Renee Simon and husband Patrick of Lafayette, Marina Abraham of Breaux Bridge, Michelle Abraham of Breaux Bridge, and Latoya Abraham of Breaux Bridge; sons, Freddie Abraham, Jr. and wife Audrey of Breaux Bridge, Lamont Abraham, Sr. and wife Claudene of Breaux Bridge; brother, and Wilbert Abraham and wife Emma of Mobile, AL; sisters, Emelda Allen of Gulfport, MS, Ethel Duffy and husband Rev. Ricky of Pensacola, FL, and Mary Jean Johnson and husband Alvin of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Johnathan, Aisha, Joshua, Daniel, Jacob, Freddie, III, Brandon, Rabekah, Lamont, Jr., Drake, Corey, Alieha, Alexis, Alaysia, and Lamar; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends; and his four-legged son and best friend, Smokey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Junius Abraham; and his mother, Marina Benjamin Abraham.
