Actress. She was best known to British film viewers as the "bosomy blonde bimbo" in a series of Carry On film comedies in the early 1960s. Born Elizabeth Joan Winch, she was a part of a drama group at Goldsmiths College where she attended in the late 1940s. She later attended the City of London College for Commerce, Bookkeeping, Shorthand, and Typing and earned an evening scholarship to the London School of Dramatic Art. She made her first "big screen appearance in the 1955 film "Touch and Go". She went on to appear in numerous films during her career such as "I'm All Right Jack" (1959), "Carry On Regardless" (1961), "Carry On Cruising" (1962), "Carry On Cabby" (1963), and "Dad's Army" (1971). Her first television appearance came in 1955 on the television series "Sixpenny Corner". She later made many appearances on television with such credits as "Whack-O," "Dixon of Dock Green," "Citizen James," "The Avengers," "The Benny Hill Show," "Fairly Secret Army," "Demob," and "Midsomer Murders".
