Ray Franklin Marsh died Tuesday September 1, 1992 at his sisters home in Orem.

Born in Alpine Utah to Joseph Franklin and May Lillian Booth Hackett Marsh. Graduate of the Class of 1929 at American Fork High School. After High School, he went to southern California where he studied music, became Foreign Sales Supervisor of Central America and the Caribbean for the cosmetic firm of Max Factor Hollywood. He later spent five and one-half years on the personal staff of Howard Hughes and was selected to go with Mr. Hughes when he first began his Las Vegas operations. He earned his Bachelor and Master's Degrees from the University of Southern California, graduating with honors. He then became Registrar of the California State University, Los Angles, then Associate Dean of Admission and Records, and was soon honored with his full Professorship serving as a counselor and teaching half time in the school of Business and Economics.

Married Myrtle LaVern (Jeannie) Checketts of Salt Lake City January 8, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; his wife died in 1985. Their residences were Puerto Rico, Hollywood, Pasadena and then Crestline in California. The last three years he spent much of his time with his daughter's family in Provo.

He is survived by a daughter, LeeAndra Marsh Lowe, Provo; a son, Joseph Roger Marsh, Corona Del Mar, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren; one brother, M. Thirl Marsh, Salt Lake City; and four sisters, Cleone Farnsworth Crawford, American Fork; Edith McIntire, Northridge, Calif.; Fern Gardner Larsen, Orem; and MayRene Goul, Lake Arrowhead, Calif. Preceded in death by one grandson, Kendall Franklin Lowe, and by a sister, Ione.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday Sept. 5, 1992 in the Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 North. Internment, Alpine City Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork.

There will be no public Viewing.
