Growing up in a home full of love, Charles developed a deep love for family that would carry him throughout his life. There would be nothing more important to him than having his family around him and enjoying their laughter. Usually they were laughing because Charles knew plenty of jokes to keep those around him smiling all day. Never short on words, Charles B always had the gift of being a wonderful storyteller. He could take a simple thought and add colorful words and expressions that would leave you with fond memories throughout your day. He loved to gather his grandchildren and tell them stories of grand adventures. When memories of Charlie B come to mind, no one will be able to suppress that smile and chuckle that he always left you with and the love that he feely gave to others.
Charles graduated from Holdenville High School with the class of 1958, after graduation he moved to Oklahoma City where he met and married Ollie "Yvette" Hunt and the couple had one daughter. Later, he met the love of his life and married Coretha King and together they raised their daughters, Charlette, Theresa, and Tiffany. Working hard all his life, Charles served our veterans everyday for over 45 years working at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 2010. During his free time, Charles loved a good game of dominos and he enjoyed talking smack to whomever sat down to play against. Being the sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, OU, and the Thunder play. If a good game wasn’t on TV, he was sure to find an old western movie.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Lille Bennett, wife Coretha (King) Bennett, his brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his daughters Charlette Yvette Bennett-Milligan, Theresa Michelle Bennett Jaggers (Phillip), and Tiffany Nicole Bennett, grandchildren Charles “Tyran†Bennett II, Coreon Tyrell Bennett, Tharija Cheyenne Bennett, Michael Joseph Jaggers, and Phillip LeAllen Jaggers Jr., great-granddaughter Tailynn Alena Gates, sister Thelma Louise Brown, as well a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
