The Sons of the American Revolution record that, "SAR Patriot #: P-129280" Godfrey Carriger, Sr. "died October 8, 1811 in Carter County, TN and is buried in the Old Academy Farm Cemetery. " The name has changed to Kitzmiller Cemetery. A Carriger family member married a Kitzmiller and it is now known as the Kitzmiller Cemetary. His grave was marked only by a rock which is German custom and surely must have been moved over time but it is still there in the Kitzmiller Cemetary. It is next to the school/church his son, Godfrey Carriger Jr and one other man built and sustained. It is now beautifully rebuilt and in private hands.

JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN TODAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!
But the pains which He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He's king, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!
Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
Praise eternal as His love, Alleluia!
Praise Him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia!
