March 25, 1930 — Sept. 10, 2018

Charles Bowden Adamson, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at 4:53 p.m. at his home in Bartlettsville. Born March 25, 1930, in Judah, he was the son of Opal and Mary Emeline (McPike) Adamson. He married Delema Joyce Clark on March 23, 1951.

Charles was a member of the Bartlettsville Christian Church and the Heltonville Area Veterans. He served in the Army as an ambulance driver and medic.

He worked many years in the limestone quarries of Lawrence and Monroe Counties, and retired from Westinghouse. Charles was also a farmer, and he and his dad built their home on the family farm in Bartlettsville.

Charles loved road trips and had traveled through every state, except Alaska, as well as Canada. He was always outdoors enjoying fishing, hunting, searching for morels, and working in timber. Charles looked forward to playing euchre with his retired Westinghouse buddies and friends every month.

Survivors include his wife Delema; two daughters, LeEtta Adamsom and Bonita (Russell) Strunk; grandsons, Charles (Kelly) Strunk, Bryce and Brad Clements; step-grandsons, Lee and Chriss Strunk; great-granddaughters, Cheradyn and Morgan Strunk; sisters-in-law, Wynema (Leonard) Bailey and Juanita Blakeney; and his beloved fur buddy Red.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Annetta Marie, in infancy; a brother, Rosco Dale, KIA in World War II; a son-in-law, David E. Easton, KIA in Vietnam; and a grandson, Chad Clements.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at Bartlettsville Christian Church with Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow at the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. at the church and from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers any memorial contributions may be made to the Bartlettsville Christian Church Benevolence Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville.

Pall Bearers: Bryce Clements, Brad Clements, Joy Dean Turpen, Bobby Covey, Phil Bailey and Ted Maddox. Honorary Pall Bearers: Russell Strunk, Leonard Bailey and Kelsey Martin.
