She was born in Sneedville, VA on October 14, 1928 to the late Abijah and Quinnie Sarah (Trent) Alder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmit Allen; daughter, Brenda Allen; sister, Wilma Lucas; and a brother, Wendell Alder.
Georgia was a 1948 graduate of Jonesville High School. She worked in the Lee County Courthouse for over 40 years as a legal secretary, and she was a member of Bolling’s Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Glen Alder and Abijah “Mitch” Alder Jr., both of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, in Lee Memorial Gardens, Woodway, VA. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for services.
