DEATHS:
H. W. SCHUMACHER, 74, AT CALLICOON CENTER
Harry W. Schumacher, who came here from Montclair several years ago, died at his home Saturday, Aug. 1 [1942], in his 75th year. He had been ill for five years. Mr. Schumacher was born in Hanover, Germany, Dec. 30, 1867. He came to this country at the age of seventeen, but returned to serve his time in the German militia. Coming back to this country he lived in Montclair until he moved here in 1937, a year after he had erected a beautiful home on a lot from the Henry Urban farm and overlooking this village. Twenty years ago he was united in marriage with Miss Frances Muhs of Brooklyn, who survives. The only other relative in this country is a cousin, Edward H. T. Schumacher of Brooklyn. Mr. Schumacher was treasurer of the Schering Corporation of Bloomfield, manufacturing chemists.
