Mr. Russell was born at Sharon, Pennsylvania, July 13, 1877. He had been a resident of Coalgate for the past 42 years, coming to this country as a railroad man. He later worked in the mines here, helped in putting down the paving in Coalgate, wasemployed by the city for a time and served as Coalgate City Manager.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Roy Russell, U. S. Army, Perrin Field, Sherman, Texas, one brother, James Russell, McAlester, Oklahoma, and two sisters, Mra. Dave Anderson, Parsons, Kan. and Mrs. W. S. Mellor, Muskogee, Okla.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Coalgate, on Sunday, Dec. 20, by Rev. J. M. Gaskin.
