Mrs. Dye had lived in the Pittsburg County area for 80 years. Her husband, Joe, preceded her in death on March 21, 1946. Survivors include six daughters, May Hailey of McAlester; Francis Nowlin, Sacramento, CA, Esther Wright, Glenn, CA, Evola Roberts, Sacramento, CA, Sadie Hunter, Beallsville, MD, Bea Henry of Muskogee, OK; a son, John Dye of Tennessee; a brother, Pat O'Neal of Collinsville, MS; and two sisters, Sadie Alewine of Collinsville, MS and Ellen Huggins of Alabama. Services were held at the Second Baptist Church of McAlester on Tuesday, May 28, 1978.
