(1930 - 2011)

Lester C. "Red" Arndt, age 80, of 919 7th St., Kiel died Monday afternoon, March 14, 2011 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.

He was born August 11, 1930 in Kiel, son of the late Fred & Elsie (Jugenheimer) Arndt. Lester was a 1949 graduate of Kiel High School.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 serving in Korea. On July 24, 1971 he married Agnes Denor at the former St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Lester was employed at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for many years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel and a former usher. Lester enjoyed gardening and lawn care and was a Packer fan.

Survivors include his wife Agnes of Kiel, two brothers, Robert & Theresa Arndt, Manitowoc, LeRoy & Shirley Arndt, Kiel and four sisters-in-law: Evelyn Novak, Irene Denor, Judy Denor, all of Manitowoc and Florence Denor of Brillion. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lester will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 387 Cemetery Road, Kiel with Rev. Jeremy Cares officiating. Entombment will take place in Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Kiel VFW Post #6707 will conduct military rites on Saturday.

Lester's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Homestead Care Center, New Holstein, for the wonderful care he received & Dr. Peter Janu & Dr. Michael Hetzner and the staff at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton for all their help.
