Jacksonville - Funeral services for Ruth Boggs Taylor, 67, of Jacksonville will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at West Point Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Boggs officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Ten Broeck Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Broeck, near Fyffe. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at the church. K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center will be directing. Mrs. Taylor died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Jacksonville Health & Rehab.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Taylor; two sons and their wives, Drs. Jeff and Lynn Taylor, of Murphy, N.C., and Sloan and Jenny Taylor, of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Grant, Madison, Avery and Brooklyn Taylor, of Murphy, and Grayson and Jenson Taylor, of Jacksonville; four brothers, Franklin Boggs and his wife, Joan, of Gordon, Ky., Millard Boggs and his wife, Monica, of Elizabethtown, Ky., Burton Boggs and his wife, Vicki, of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Randy Boggs and his wife, Debbie, of Louisville, Ky.; five sisters, Murial Hoskins and her husband, Bill, of Barbourville, Ky., Marjorie Stratton, of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Betty Carl, of Barbourville, Ky., Dorothy Weaver, of Louisville, Ky., and Brenda Branch and her husband, Danny, of Valley, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca Boggs; and a brother, John Boggs.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Taylor's nephews. Mrs. Taylor, a Kentucky native, retired from Calhoun County Schools in 2000, after 35 year's service, as an English teacher, most recently at Pleasant Valley High School. She also taught part-time at Gadsden State Community College at Fort McClellan and at Jacksonville State University. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and grandchildren. "Oma's" love and devotion to her grandchildren will be long remembered.
