Jerome "Juby" Acosta, 73, born in Alton, IL, raised in Donaldsonville, LA and resident of Pierre Part, LA passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Jerome was a devoted Catholic and cherished his faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed his time in the Louisiana National Guard, coaching Little League Baseball, working in the yard and finding places to eat in small towns while visiting Branson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, best friend and soul mate of 51 years Mary Mabile Acosta; three children, Belinda Caballero (Kyle), Jerome "Jay" Acosta, Jr. (Pam) and Clint Acosta (Julie); eight grandchildren, Jared, Trae and Chase Falcon, Joey and Josh Acosta, Katie Bergeron (Cody), Abby Acosta and Ella Newton; one great grandchild, Liam Bergeron; three sisters, JoAnn (CJ) Cassard, Rosemary (Pete) Landry and Judy (Kenny) Chauvin; in-law's, Philip Mabile, Orien Boudreaux, Vivian and Sidney Cavalier, Jr., Yvonne Mabile along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Acosta and Esther Hebert; half-brothers, Lloyd and Bronco Acosta and half-sister, Alice Bourg; in-law's, Joseph and Ada Mabile; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Verna Berthelot, Eve and niece Tracy Mabile, Eugene and Audrey Mabile, Delta Boudreaux, Edith and Milton Boudreaux and niece Kathy, Joseph Mabile Jr. Pallbearers will be: Jay Acosta, Clint Acosta, Kyle Caballero, Jared Falcon, Trae Falcon, Chase Falcon, Joey Acosta and Josh Acosta.

The family would like to thank the staff at Baton Rouge General and Rehab, The Crossing at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge and his caregivers Dana and Courtney for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 6-9pm and will resume on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 7:30am at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
