A Memorial Service for Erma will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, October 29, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. Visitation will be " hour prior to the service. Erma Rust age 95, of Princeton, MN passed away peacefully on October 23, 2010 at the Princeton Elim Care and Rehab Center. Erma was born on December 9, 1914 to Henry and Elizabeth (Bach) Heitman in Princeton Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. Erma attended District #3 County School South through the 7th grade. Erma then helped on the farm until she was married. She married Arthur Rust on June 20, 1935 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple lived in the Princeton area their entire lives. Erma was a homemaker to her siblings, then her husband and their four children. She was a great housekeeper, seamstress, gardener and cook. In earlier years, Erma was very active with her church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years, a member of Ladies Aide, the choir and also volunteered as the church custodian. Erma enjoyed gardening, playing cards, oil painting, square dancing, making macramé jewelry, traveling south for the winters and she also enjoyed all of the years she spent volunteering at the Clothing Center. Erma is survived by her daughters: Diane (Russell) Sutton, Karen (Merlin) Hanson, Linnae (Steve) Carlson; 9 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law and by other loving relatives and friends. Erma was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur; son: Todd; grandson Bradley; parents: Henry and Elizabeth and by her 10 brothers and sisters.
