Nina L. Meyer, 78, of Albion, NE, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Boone County Health Center, Albion, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2018, at United Methodist Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Janet Burgel officiating. Interment will follow at Dennison Cemetery, rural Albion, NE. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Nina Lee Meyer, the daughter of Duane “Shorty” and Nina Lee (Fleek) Lough, was born June 17, 1940 at Loretto, Nebraska. Her mother died at childbirth, and Nina was raised by her father and step-mom Laverne Lough.

She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church, Loretto, NE.

Nina attended school at Albion Public School and graduated in 1958. Following high school, Nina worked at B & D in Columbus, NE.

Nina was united in marriage to Darrell Meyer at the United Methodist Church in Loretto, NE. To this union five children were born: Alton, Tammy, Jenny, Bill, and Ernest.

The couple lived in Albion for a few years before moving to Primrose, NE. Nina worked at Dot’s Grocery Store there. In 1980, the family moved back to Albion where Nina was employed as a housekeeper at the Dunes Motel, secretary at Keith’s TV and Wild Bill’s, and was also an Avon representative.

Nina was a member of the United Methodist Church in Loretto, NE, and the women’s group there.

In her younger years, Nina enjoyed bowling. Her and Darrell also enjoyed fishing and camping with their family. Some of her hobbies and enjoyments were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing bingo and circle words, coloring book, cooking and baking, her specialty being oatmeal rolls.

Nina is survived by her five children: Alton (Mary Moulder) Meyer, Tammy (Dennis) Nissen, Jenny (Alvin) Meyer all of Albion, NE; Bill (Brenda Test) Meyer of Norfolk, NE; and Ernest Meyer of Albion, NE; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Kimberly (Carter) Fritz and their children: Paisley, Jovie, Annastyn, and Reese; Lacey (Eddie) Henn; Justin (fiancé Emma Grape) Bounds; Hunter Meyer; Trevor, Travis, and Ty Nissen; Dylan Meyer; Travis (Shelley) Moulder and son Nicholas Thies; Danielle Moulder and son Eli Boeckman; brother: Delwyn Lough of Albion, NE; sister: Joan (John) Smith of Albion, NE; sister-in-law: Connie Lough of Eureka, CA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother; her husband; brother: Barney Lough, and sister-in-law: Jeanie Lough.
