Born July 23, 1923 in Blackfoot, ID to Elba E. Conkle and Myrtle Annie Walters Conkle. Married Vera Petersen; later divorced. Married Margie Withers Conkle in 1963. He served his country in World War II as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the US Navy. He worked at Utah Power and Light Company and Filtro Corporation until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; son, Craig M. Conkle; daughters, Vera Diane Welch, Becky Lynn Boberg, Vicki Nielson, Tina Goddard; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael John Christensen; four brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be Tues. July 2, 2 p.m., Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, Taylorsville where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Riley and ladies at the Salt Lake Clinic for their special care.
