The Fairbury Daily News-Feb. 15, 1934
Charles W. Beachler of Reynolds passed away at his home Monday, February 12, 1934, at the age of 29 years, 10 months and 28 days. He had been in ill health for a long time.
The youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome E. Beachler was born on the home farm two and one-half miles west of Reynolds March 14, 1904.
He received the early part of his education in the country schools of Thayer county and finished his school days in Fairbury.
After reaching manhood he resided for a number of years with his youngest sister, Mrs. Jennie Smith, at Compton, Calif.
In December, 1931, he returned to Reynolds, where he made his home with his mother until his death. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Beachler; three brothers and three sisters: L. L. Beachler of Fairbury, William Everett eBachler (sic) of Beaver City, Mrs. Jessie Lobaugh of Wichita, Kas.; Mrs. Jennie Smith of Compton, Calif.; Mrs. Lucy Hansmire and Roscoe Beachler of Reynolds. Besides there are seventeen nephews and nieces.
One brother and one sister passed away during childhood. Two other sisters, Mrs. Annetta Smith and Mrs. Beulah Hughes, preceeded him in death. One brother, C. S. Beachler, made the supreme sacrifice for his country during the World War in the battle of the Argonne Forest.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Reynolds Methodist church, in charge of Rev. L. F. Townsend of Fairbury. Burial was in the Reynolds cemetery.
