John M. Monaco, 89, graduated from Mont Pleasant High School before earning bachelor's degrees from Siena College, in Biology, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Engineering. He worked as an engineer for General Electric for 37 years, rising in management and recognized for his communication, problem solving and organizational skills. He was active in local government and politics serving as a Republican Committeeman for many years and also on the Niskayuna, NY town planning board.
He was the brother of the late Daniel, Angelo, and Joseph, and his sisters, Mary, Frances, Irene, and Julia. He was also preceded in death by nieces, Barbara Hardt and Judy Rowell, and nephew, Timothy Rowell. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; two sons; four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and by many nephews, nieces and friends.
