Father of Samuel Christopher Joy, William Richard Henry Joy, Jane Joy, Mary Ann Joy, Ambrose George Thomas Joy .
Aged 87 years.

Ambrose is buried here with his first wife Jane Joy ( died 1856 nee Thomas) and three of his children:
Mary Ann who died as a child in 1833, Ambrose who died age 24 in 1849 both reburied here in 1856 from New Bunhill Fields and Jane Balls (died 1897- last in grave. )The inscriptions of the first two children may include inaccurate death dates- to be verified.
The Urch family buried in this plot earlier ( between 1844 and 1853) may not be related to the Joys. They are Mary Anne Urch ( nee Deakin) aged 30 widow of Henry and three children who died as 3 month old infants; Mary Anne Deakin, Henry Deakin and Laura Annie- all Urch

Ambrose Joy of Islington. Sacred to the memory of Mary Ann daughter of the above who died 12 November 1833 aged 7 years and 2 months and of Ambrose eldest son of the above who died 6th August 1849 aged 24 years and of ..Jane Joy beloved........of the above who died 7th march 1856 aged 69 years. Thou has gone to thy grave in a full age as a shock of corn comes in his season also of the above Ambrose Joy of 13 Upper Park Street Islington who died 1st June 1875 aged 87 years. His end was peace and of Jane Balls eldest daughter of Ambrose and Jane and wife of William Girling Balls who died 25 April 1897 aged 76 years
