Harry H. Hart, 92, of Lincoln formerly of Homer, NE passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Waterford Assisted Living, Lincoln, NE.

Visitation with family present will be on Friday evening, November 2, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Homer with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Services will be Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in the Omaha Valley Cemetery south of Homer on Highway 77. Becker Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Howard Hart was born August 19, 1926, at the Cheyenne River Indian Agency in South Dakota. He was the fourth son of Richard J. and Kathleen M. Hart. He graduated from Homer High School in 1944 and married Joyce J. Jensen on June 11, 1949, in South Sioux City. He worked for Holtz Construction Co. until 1965 and then was the Head Custodian for the Homer Community School until 1974 when he began his own painting, wallpapering, and restoration business until retiring in 2006 when he moved to Lincoln, NE.

Harry is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, was involved with the Boy Scouts for 40 years where he received as a Scoutmaster, the Silver Beaver Award, the Lamb Award, and a member of the Order of The Arrow. He served 59 years with the Homer Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the Homer Town Council and a member of the Homer Community Club. He was also a member of the Order of Sons of Italy in America, Colombo Lodge, in Omaha, NE. He and Joyce enjoyed Square dancing and Round dancing.

Harry is survived by one son Jeff and Sue Hart of Lincoln, NE; one daughter Wanda and Fred Gay of Springfield, NE; four grandchildren including Andrea Hart and her son Andrew Morris-Hart; Corey and Sima Hart and daughter, Shayda Hart; Angela and Dustin Beekman and sons, Devyn and Trentyn Beekman; and Aaron and Rachelle Gay and daughter, Kierstin Gay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Kathleen Hart, his wife Joyce in 1998, and three brothers Richard, William and Sherman.
