Mrs. Davelene Blue Austin was born September 2, 1939 to the late True Ralph and Ollie Mae Collins Blue in Blount County, Tennessee.
She departed this life on November 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by loving family. She attended school in Knoxville and had a strong spiritual belief at a young age as a member at Bush Grove Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
She was employed at Plasma Alliance for many years until retiring.
Davelene was married to Carl Austin, Jr. and from this union four children were born: Shearl Austin, Ricky Austin, Margaret Annette McQueen and Carla Austin. They were later divorced but always remained friends till his death.
She is preceded in death by her parents True R. and Ollie Mae Blue and three siblings: Charles Blue, Mildred Kirk and Betty Smith; and a grandson, Brian McQueen.
She leaves three daughters to cherish her memories: Shearl Austin, Margaret Annette McQueen and Carla (Rodney Thomas) Austin. Son: Ricky Austin. Three Grandchildren: Antonia (Reginald) McDaniel, Cassidy Chattam and Demarcus Austin. Six Great Grandchildren: Landon, Caleb, Cammy, and Calan Chattam, Dania and Darnell McDaniel. Three siblings: Jesse (Charlene) Blue, Marva (Albert Baah) Anderson, and Sarah Kathleen Jackson. A host of Nieces, Nephews and Devoted Friend: Karl Towns and the family of Dr. Donald Wallis, whom she all loved.
The family will receive friends at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919, on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a Chapel Service to follow at 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow in the Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
