Louis Francis McClain passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at his home. Lou was born to the late John and Hazel (Johnston) McClain on Feb. 15, 1950, in Marinette, Wis.

Lou was raised and graduated from high school in Peshtigo, Wis. He was a member of the 20-Year Club in the National Guard, where he served for 27 years. Lou worked for Lloyd Flanders in Menominee, Mich., for 37 years where he designed and fabricated many of their collections.
Lou loved to putz around; if you had an idea, he would design and build it for you. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who always put a sparkle in his eyes, and he enjoyed spending time out at their camp.

Lou married the love of his life and best friend, Sherry (nee: Blohm). He often said that it was love at first sight.

Lou is survived by his wife Sherry;
his two sons: Jeremy and Josh McClain;
step-children: Michael (Becky) Hotzel and Jennifer (Kevin) Beaudo;
his beloved grandchildren: Kelsey, Abbi, Onika, Devin, Ceiana, Evan, Jaida, Leland, Logan, and Cooper.
Also surviving are his brothers: John (Joan) McClain, Edward (Cathy) McClain, Paul (Rhonda) McClain and Alvin (Kim) McClain;
his sisters: Hazel (Rod) Cloutier, Shirley Brown, Susan Miller, Sandra (Carl) Marotz and Mary (Sam) Mitchell;
father-in-law and mother-in-law: Mike and Dar Blohm; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sandy McClain, Tami (Jim) Zeitler and Dale Halfmann; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Lou is also survived by his special friends: Ken and Jen Engel, and Bruce and Denise Tomaszewski.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents: John and Hazel McClain; brother David McClain;
sisters-in-law: Paula McClain and Cynthia Halfmann;
brothers-in-law: Thomas Mitchell, Robert Brown, Earl Glover, Wilfred "Butch" Cloutier and Vernon Miller;
and nephews: Billy McClain, Danny Brown and Eric Glover.

Visitation will be at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018. Services will follow at 4 p.m., led by a nephew, Pastor Aaron McClain. An Honors Ceremony will be conducted by the Military 20-Year Club at the conclusion of the service.
