Marie M. Valentine, age 87, of Manitowoc, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018, at River’s Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert Valentine and parents, Edward and Esther Heinzen.

Marie was born in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids on May 5, 1931, daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Zimmer) Heinzen. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1949. Marie married Robert “Bob” Valentine on October 17, 1953 at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2018.

Marie was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and talented seamstress. She enjoyed baking and was known for her Christmas cookies and delicious cheesecake. She was employed at the Girl Scouts of America for many years and volunteered for several community organizations including RSVP and Meals on Wheels. Marie was a good friend and caring neighbor.
