EDWARD G. HEINZEN
Mr. Edward G. Heinzen, age 99, formerly of 1004 N. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died
late Saturday night, July 20, 2002 at the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Holy
Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Foley will celebrate the
Mass of Christian Burial with burial of his cremated remains at Evergreen
Cemetery on Friday, July 26, 2002.
Edward was born Nov. 28, 1902 in Manitowoc County, son of the late Anton and
Cecelia Schuler Heinzen. On June 11, 1929 he was married to the former Esther
Zimmer at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Esther preceded him in death
on Nov. 12, 1987. Edward farmed in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids and was later
employed by the Mirro Corp. retiring in 1968. He was a member of Holy Innocents
Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Marie (Robert) Valentine of
Manitowoc; one son and daughter in law: Robert (Joan) Heinzen of Manitowoc;
eleven grandchildren: Daniel (Ruth) Valentine of San Diego, CA; Diane Valentine
of Phoenix, AZ; Mark (Susan) Valentine of Manitowoc; Carol (John) Aschenbrener
of Manitowoc; Robert J. Valentine of New York, NY; Barbara (J) Taylor III of
Bastrop, TX; Lousie Valentine of Appleton; Steve Heinzen of Milwaukee; Jeffrey
(Tina) Heinzen of Manitowoc; David (Lisa) Heinzen of Janesville; James (Barbara)
Heinzen of Columbus, WI; nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great-
granddaughters; one brother in law: Clarence Klingeisen of Manitowoc; two sisters
in law: Ida Heinzen and Hildegarde Pokorski, both of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews
other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by five sisters
and four brothers.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of
Manitowoc, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at Holy Innocents
Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. There will be
a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Kenn (sic) Nelesen. In lieu of
flowers memorial donations would be appreciated for Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
