Lucinda Thorn, wife of the late David Bowman, died Tuesday evening January 20, 1920, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John R. Myers, in this village. She would have been 86 years old had she lived until the fourteenth of the next month. She was the daughter of Rensselaer and Rhuamy Case Thorn, who lived in the house now belonging to William Snyder, a short distance east of the Bethel school house. She is survived by one son, Walter Bowman, of Wassaic, and two daughters, Mrs. John R. Myers, of Pine Plains, and Mrs. Myron Decker, of Poughkeepsie, and one sister, Mrs. Catharine Morgan, of Norfolk, Ct. She was a woman of excellent disposition, kind and true, and a good wife and mother. She was a member of the Stanford Christian Church. For more than a year she had been failing, growing weaker as the days went by, under the infirmities of age. For five months she had not been able to leave her room, but she had all the care and comfort that could be given her by her loving and amiable daughter, Mrs. Myers, with whom she lived for a long time. Funeral services at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myers. Interment at Stanfordville.
