Carlene Whitford Warner Acker Obit
WEIDMAN, Mich. — Carlene Acker of Weidman went to be with her Lord and her husband, Robert, on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at her home.
Carlene was born on Aug. 25, 1942, in Carson City, Mich., the daughter of Ivan and Carrie (Oberlitner) Pankhurst. She worked for J Murphy Beauty College as an Instructor and was an Insurance Agent for Acker and Associates. Carlene married Robert Acker on July 30, 1995, in Las Vages, Nev. She was a member of the Rosebush United Methodist Church, a volunteer at the Wooden Rocker and an avid supporter of Hospice of Central Michigan. Carlene enjoyed painting and was an expert gardener on her farm, Ackers Akers.
Carlene is survived by her children, Tim (Janice) Whitford of Tecumseh, Mich., and David (Rhea) Warner of Tamarac, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica and Meghan Cangley of Tecumseh, Mich.; sisters, Cora Gayle Teachout of Pleasant Lake, Mich., and Frances (John) Heany of Fowler, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.
Carlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Acker, and her parents.
Funeral services for Carlene will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, at Rosebush United Methodist Church with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating. Interment will take place at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 4, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, from 2-6 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Bradley St., Mt. Pleasant.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
