Carl Boren 1919 ~ 2007 Carl Boren, 87, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 in American Fork, Utah. He was born June 10, 1919 in Wallsburg, Utah to William and Elva Mae Lamb Boren. He attended grade school and high school in Heber, Utah. He operated a Shell Service Station in American Fork for several years. Carl married Joy Irene Tidwell, Oct. 2, 1940 and was later sealed in the Provo Temple. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed at Geneva Steel more than 30 years as a crane operator. He was an active member of the American Legion and served as a commander. He loved dancing, bowling, hunting, fishing, baseball, sweets, and his grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by his wife, Joy; daughters, Bonnie (Dale) Carroll, Betty Lu (Richard) Merkley; a son, Jerry, (Laura Lee) Boren; and 16 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Leo, Othell, LaMar, Vern, and Keith. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 6th Ward, 300 North 100 East. Friends may call Tuesday, May 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery
