Visitation will be Friday January 4, 2019 from 9 AM until 2 PM at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb with a service to be held at the First United Pentecostal Church of McComb at 3 PM. Rev. Terry Ballard and Rev. Raymond Garcia will officiate and burial will be in Hollywood cemetery.
Cecil was born on July 18, 1926 in McComb, MS. He is the son of the late, William Harrison and Queen Ann Phelps McKenzie.
Cecil was a retired machine operator for twenty years for MacMillan Bloedel Inc., and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He was a hardworking man, that was true to his word, and loved his wife of seventy years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Charles Ray McKenzie, ten siblings, WM Felder McKenzie, Alvie Leslie McKenzie, Eloise M. Souter, Percy E. McKenzie, Conner McKenzie, Jessie B. McKenzie, Robert Norman McKenzie, Minnie F. Van Norman, Phillip M. McKenzie and Lionel McKenzie.
He is survived by a his loving wife, Totsie Boyd McKenzie, one son, Houston C. McKenzie Jr.,( Carla), two daughters, Margaret M. Russell (Bruce) and Glenda M. Johnson (Kenneth); one brother, Winfred H. McKenzie (Peggy) and one sister, Lucille M. Bates; three grandchildren, Blaisha McKenzie, Destiny Arellano and Vince Johnson and great-grandchildren, Johnny Arellano and Joaquin Arellano with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe McKenzie, Kenneth Wayne McMillan, Vince Johnson, Walter Pigott, Hubert Norwood and Hershel Jones Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Russell, Kenneth Johnson, Joel Barnett, Danny Boyd, Michael Boyd, Richard McMillan and Steve McKenzie.
