Carol Behnke Bubolz, age 78, of Reedsville, went to meet her Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at West Haven.

Carol's homestead was in Bolt, Wisconsin, born February 23, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Esther (Schroeder) Chada. She graduated from Denmark High School, class of 1968. She went on to further her education at the Door-Kewaukee Normal School, earning a degree in education. On December 22, 1962, she married Willard "Red" Behnke. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1980. Carol married Karl Bubolz on July 30, 1994. Throughout her 38 years of teaching, all of which she loved, she taught many students; from the one room school house in Wayside to Reedsville Elementary, where she ended her career in 1997. She was a decorated teacher with awards received for all of her environmental work during her teaching career, including Environmental School Camp at Camp Tapawingo. On the sidelines, Carol managed the Fire Safety Program on behalf of the Reedsville Fire Department. Upon retirement, she enjoyed bus trips all over the country, especially NASCAR races, camping with family and friends, tending to her flower gardens, bowling, being an active member of the AmVets Ladies Auxiliary, and loved spending time with her family. She was a very loving mother and proud grandmother to her family.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Karl of Reedsville; her son and daughter-in-law: Aaron and Karen Behnke; her grandchildren: Ashley and Mitchel Behnke; her sisters and brothers-in-law: MaryJo (James) Bielinski, Lisa (Paul) Schaetz, Glenn (the late JoAnn) Kornely , Gerhardt (Bergetta) Bubolz; one brother and sister-in-law: Charles (Judy) Chada; step-children: Brian (Sue) Bubolz, Cindy (Dave) Isajiw, Scott (Cindy) Bubolz, step-grandchildren: Eric Jackson (Erin) Bubolz, Brett (Kelly) Bubolz, Challise (Caleb) Staudinger, Colton Isajiw, Jessup and Casey Bubolz; along with step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Willard "Red" Behnke, one sister, JoAnn Kornely, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Lorena Behnke, a step-great-grandson, Corey Bubolz, and a great-nephew, Landon Bielinski.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating will be the Rev. Darin Aden. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
