David Bowman died at his late home in the town of Stanford, July 10, 1910, aged 79 years. The cause of death was kidney trouble from which he had been a sufferer for the past few years. Mr. Bowman was one of the best known men of the town of Stanford, and held in high esteem by all who knew him. Deceased was the son of Joseph and Maria Bowman, and was the last surviving member of that family. He was born in the town of Milan in 1831, and had resided in the immediate vicinity all his life. He was a carpenter by trade, but later took up agriculture. He married Lucinda Thorne, of Bethel, who survives him. Five children were born to them as follows; Rheuamma, who married George Rikert, now deceased; Lina, wife of Myron Decker; Rosa, wife of John R. Myers; Grace, who married George Duncan, now deceased, and Walter Bowman, of Wassaic. Mr. and Mrs. Bowman were taken ill with bowel trouble about ten days ago, and both were in a semi-conscious condition. Mr. Bowman died as above stated, and his wife is in a very critical condition. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock at the Christian Church, Stanfordville. Interment at Stanfordville.
