DONALD J. BRIXIUS
(1925 - 2018)

Brillion - Donald J. Brixius, age 92, of Brillion, entered into eternal life on Thursday February 1, 2018, at Rennes in DePere.

He was born on July 21, 1925 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Margaret (Gallagher) Brixius. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1943. Following graduation, Don served in the U.S. Army for 2 ½ years, with tours in France, Germany and Belgium in the 95th Infantry Division in General Patton's 3rd Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge. On June 21, 1953, he married Ann Morreau. Don worked for C. Reiss Coal Co. for 25 years in sales and in the office. He later became the clerk and treasurer for the City of Brillion until his retirement. He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, the American Legion Post #126 in Brillion and a past member of the Brillion Lions Club.

Survivors include his son Keith of Brillion, his daughter, Janet (Donald) Penza of Green Bay, 5 grandchildren, Michael (Andrea) Brixius, Melissa (Nate) Kauffman, Erin Penza, Katie Penza, Kevin Penza and other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann, a brother Kenneth, sisters, Janet, Adeline, Grace and Virginia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc.

Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. with mass to follow at 11:00.
