Janie Marie Johnson Pearson, 80, of Berea, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital & Respiratory Care Center in Mt. Vernon after a short illness. Born May 24, 1938 in Madison County, daughter of the late Ralph “ET” and Alberta Carrier Johnson. She was a retired line worker at Parker-Seal for forty years. Working six days a week for several years, she would have kept working had the plant not closed. A proud member of the Berea Church of God, when God made Janie, He made a Saint! Always caring, loving, smiling and willing to help out any way she could. Serving God all her life and loving her children were special joys every day. She also enjoyed reading the Bible and sitting on the front porch watching the cars go by. Janie loved to cook when able, when not she told her daughters what to get and cook which included her favorites: cornbread, fried potatoes, vegetable soup, taco salads, cold cut subs and strawberry milkshakes. She loved watching the Food Network and simple dining at Red Lobster, Steak & Shake and Taco Tico.

She fought the good fight and was ready to go home to heaven.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Pearson; her baby daughter, Sharon Ann Pearson; brother Ralph Johnson, Jr.

Funeral Service 11:00am, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Berea Church of God with Pastor Stephen Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery.
