Alberta Carrier Johnson 93 of Berea died Monday June 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Berea Hospital.
Alberta was born in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Herman and Verdie VanWinkle Carrier. She attended Cruse Ridge Elementary School in Rockcastle County. She was a homemaker and longtime employee of Parker Seal. She was one of the first 50 employees of Parker Seal in 1951. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Big Hill Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph E.T. Johnson, one son Ralph Johnson Jr., and two infant grandchildren Sharon Pearson and Carrie Watson. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers Cecil Carrier, Chester Carrier, James Carrier, Letcher Foch Carrier, Ray Carrier, and five sisters Opal Carrier Northern, Sudie Northern, Geneva Carrier Dean, Bernadean Carrier Moore and infant Imogene.
She is survived by her seven children Janie Marie (Charles) Pearson of Berea, Earl J. (Mary Sue) Johnson of Lexington, Irma Lillian (Kenneth) Caldwell of Cadiz, Mary Johnson Guinn of Louisville, Acy (Carol) Johnson of Berea, Macie Johnson Clark of Naples, FL and Brenda Johnson Boyd of Berea. 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive her. Mrs. Johnson was very active in caring for her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday June 26, 2014 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Gray and Rev. Allen Livingood officiating. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery.
