Betty Gann, 95, Springfield died at 4:10 p.m. Friday, January 11th, 2019. She was a resident at Birchpointe Health and Wellness facility.
Betty was born on June 26th, 1923 in Springfield, coming of age during the Great Depression. She was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1941, just before the start of the war.
Betty worked at Empire Bank, now Central Bank of the Ozarks, for over twenty years in the Data Processing Center. Before her time at the bank she was a homemaker raising four children.
She is survived by her children, Marietta Gann, Springfield, Ron Gann and his wife Diane, Marshfield, Richard Gann and his wife Wanda, of Jackson, Georgia, and Brigitte Marrs, Springfield; as well as her grandchildren, Elizabeth Stanley, Jason, Jeremy, and Todd Gann, William and Katharine Marrs, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
She was a remarkably sweet woman, always full of joy towards everyone she encountered. Her family adored her. Having grown up on a farm, Betty was a great lover of plants and animals, always with a few cats and dogs in her house.
She was a longtime member of Galloway Baptist Church, and devout Christian. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard, and sister Mary, as well as her parents Elizabeth and Richard Jones.
