Our sweet "baby cat" was given to us when he was just a few weeks old by the Pastor of our church. From inside our house, I remember hearing a cat meowing like in distress one afternoon. It continued until our Pastor knocked at our back door. He had brought us a cat, for which at first my husband did not want.
Our Pastor knew that we had lost both of our cats in 2003. One died in April and the other in December. He knew how much I loved cats. I know I probably thanked him, but I want to give a special "shout out" to him again.
Smokey was special from the start. I remember my son and I used to throw a tennis ball against the wall on our porch and he would run after it. He had a lot of fun and so did we. My heart is broken since he left us. I'm just thankful that I got to be his "Mom" all those years.
