Russell John Kuchta was born December 24. 1946 in Davidson County, Tennessee, and he was the son of Robert John Kuchta (1924–2012) and his wife Mildred W (Crumpler) Kuchta (1922–2013).
He had congenital heart problems and was little more than 9 months old and living at 325 Harrington in Nashville when he died on September 27, 1947 at Vanderbilt Hospital.
