Rockland Man Succumbs After Brief Illness
DE PERE – Earl Cashman, 44, lifelong resident of Rockland and treasurer of the town, passed away at 3 o’clock this morning in a hospital in Green Bay following an illness of two weeks. Infection, caused by a severe cold, is given as the cause of death.
The funeral of Mr. Cashman will be held Wednesday morning in this city. A requiem mass will be said at 10 o’clock in St. Francis church, of which he always had been a member, by the pastor, the Rev. G. J. O’Connell. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Cashman was born Nov. 27, 1892, on the farm in Rockland which he operated many years. He was married Oct. 29, 1925, to Miss Antoinette Baeten, Rockland. She, and three children, three sisters and one brother, survive. The children are Edward Martin, 10; Mary Anne, 6; John Earl, 4. The sisters are Mrs. Leonard P. Haughian, Rice Lake; Mrs. Robert Finnegan, Hollandtown; Anna, De Pere. The brother is James Cashman, Rockland.
Mr. Cashman had been assessor of Rockland six years and treasurer the last three years.
Members of the Holy Name society will meet at 7:30 tomorrow night at St. Francis’ church to go to the Cashman home to recite the rosary at 8 o’clock.
